I AM DEEPLY INTERESTED IN WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN.
You could think of me as a human guide for the spiritual experience. I am, first and foremost, a fellow participant in life. Before anything else, I am human. I am deeply interested in what it means to be human, and my work is centered around universal human flourishing.
My writing and speaking are driven by a single desire: to see you become a fully integrated being. I am here to help you courageously explore the depths of your internal universe and the limitless possibilities of your external world. My hope is to guide you toward healing, wholeness, harmony, and a life full of vibrancy.
I am the author of Discovering Your Internal Universe, a book exploring anxiety, panic, fear, and the hopeful insights I discovered beneath it all. I serve as the lead pastor of Vinings Lake Church, an ever-evolving spiritual collective waking up to beauty, truth, and goodness wherever it is found. The Washington Post described this community as “A Unicorn Church.” USA Today stated “VL is a refuge for those leaving organized religion,” and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said, “It’s not your father’s church.” I am also the founder of Atlanta Becoming, a progressive spiritual gathering that brings together best-selling authors and prominent speakers for round-table discussions. I hold a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. I have been married to my love, Katie, for over twenty-one years and we live just outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
